Driggs 160 Land Commission Meeting, Tomorrow 11/18 at 9am
The State Board of Land Commissioners will be meeting tomorrow, November 18th, at 9am to discuss "disposing" of the Driggs 160 parcel. While no public comments will be taken, the meeting is open for the public to attend.
This meeting is an ongoing discussion regarding the abrupt auctioning of 160 acres in Tetonia—a plot of land that has been leased by the Beard family for over 40 years. State officials were approached by Thomas Tull, a billionaire that is tied to the ownership of 2% of the land in Teton Valley, to consider disposing the land. The reconsideration is being made after Teton County Commissioners Brad Wolfe and Dan Powers opposed the sale.
Read the agenda for the meeting here.
The meeting will be held at the State Capitol in Boise, ID but can be attended virtually. You can livestream the meeting through this link or sign-up for the Zoom webinar here.
Mt. Nord Subdivision - WITHDRAWN
The Teton County Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to host a public hearing tomorrow, November 18th, at 5:00pm. One of the itinerary items—the Mt. Nord Subdivision Concept Hearing—was withdrawn and will not be heard at this session. This proposed project was for a 14 lot subdivision off of HWY 33 and N 3000 W.
The planned public hearings for the Fall River Electric Special Use Permit and the Driggs Centre Lot 53A Major Plat Amendment will still be happening tomorrow.
The meeting can be attended in person at 150 Courthouse Drive in Driggs, ID or through Zoom.
Victor WWTP + Peak Property Update
After an extensive public hearing on the 13th, the Victor City Council has pushed back any decisions regarding the wastewater treatment system or the proposed hotel and apartment complexes until December. The additional time will allow the City of Victor to meet with representatives from Driggs to determine if a wastewater treatment center that serves both cities could still be possible, and to see how the recently approved affordable housing incentives in Driggs could be applied to upcoming developments in Victor.
VARD hopes to see Teton County, Idaho and Tetonia seek to have a seat at the table with Victor and Driggs to discuss a possible valley-wide solution. We will be providing more updates as we work with local entities and as respective staff agendas and public notices are posted.
On Our Radar: Road Privatization
The Teton County Board of Commissioners will be meeting on December 12th at 9am to review an application to privatize N 2000 W.
