A Unique Contribution

There are many ways to contribute to the work we do at VARD!

Financial contributions, volunteering, board service...

And here's another one: analysis of a policy issue. As we all know, housing, especially affordable housing, is a critical issue in our valley and its impacts are being felt by hundreds of families here. It is an issue that we have been following for years.

Members of the VARD family, Linda & John Unland, have had particular interest in the dynamics of this issue and began working with VARD's Research Associate Alena McIntosh, prior to her employment with VARD, to delve into the underpinnings and complexities of the housing/affordable housing crisis. The end game? A three-part document series - examining and reporting on housing challenges from a national, regional, and a local scale.
