DEVELOPMENT UPDATES
Victor City Council Denies Rezone
During the Victor City Council Meeting on April 8th, council members voted to deny the application from East Idaho Holdings LLC to rezone a 7.42 acre parcel from Residential Cluster to RM-2 and Commercial Mixed Use. City Council raised concerns over the current amount of multifamily units in the development pipeline and how this new rezone wouldn't match the zoning in the surrounding area. Council members also spoke to their overall concern of whether approving new developments is sustainable in light of the uncertainty with how Victor will treat its wastewater. Our comment letter supporting denial is HERE.
Driggs Planning and Zoning Commission Approves Rezone, Denies Preliminary Plat
Two applications were discussed during the Driggs Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on April 8th.
The zone map amendment for the Alexandria Townhomes application was approved by PZC and will be heading to Driggs City Council for a final decision. Final approval would designate the parcel as Neighborhood Mixed Use and RM-2. We will continue tracking the process.
While one application was recommended for approval to City Council, the application for Wildwood Commons—a proposed 216 units on 12.29 acres off of E Ross Ave—was recommended for denial by the Commission. Before it was even discussed by PZC, Driggs public works had major concerns and did not recommend approval of the application given the project's lack of infrastructure and unaddressed concerns in the final application. PZC ultimately recommended denial as the proposed project did not address community needs in a way that would justify its impact on Driggs.
