Mountain Legends becomes the largest plat vacated to date

One of the highest-density developments ever approved in Teton County has now been unanimously vacated by the Board of County Commissioners. Mountain Legends was originally platted in 2007, with 114 lots on 197 acres at 5000N and Stateline Road.  Although located in 2.5-acre zoning, this cluster development was originally granted a 65% housing density bonus with lots as small as 0.11 acres. No lots were ever sold, no infrastructure has been installed, and the development agreement expired on April 4, 2012.

At the hearing to vacate this plat, two members of the public spoke in support of this vacation and asked the commissioners to revise the county zoning to prohibit high-density developments like Mountain Legends from being platted again in the future.
